Great Machine with one major flaw; glossy screen
Strengths:  Screen size, OS, compact, quality built
Weaknesses:  Glossy Screen
Review:  I could have written all nice things about this machine and keep all readers happy. But I cannot. This could have been a five start machine had it not for its "glossy screen". If you have not heard, photo editors are staying away from this version of iMac since the glossy screen is killing the true colors and is very reflective unless it is strategically located, in front of any light s...

24 inch i Mac
Strengths:  Awesome display, all in one design, easy to use, bluetooth keybaord / mouse (optional)
Weaknesses:  Not as easy as Mac commercial to switch over, can't upgrade internal dvd drive
Review:  This is a review of the 24 in IMac all in one computer. I am a first time Mac user and was pretty excited to see what all of the hype was about. First off this thing is really cool looking and has a great space saving design. The screen is excellent and has great contrast. Now to ease of use... not really what I expected --- maybe I am to PC programmed - but I had a few initial problems getting t...

iMac 20in Core 2 Duo Aluminum - Good Buy
Strengths:  New "professional" look, comes with new aluminum keyboard, bright screen, built-in web cam
Weaknesses:  Glossy reflective screen, only comes with 1GB of ram, price
Review:  As a long time Mac user, the new iMac is a good buy. It comes out of the box with a decent amount of ram, (I've upgraded to 3GB) . Previously, the first thing I did with my Mac was remove the useless 256 or 512mb sticks and upgrade. Thank you Apple for finally giving us something to usable. It also comes with the new, low profile aluminum keyboard which is surprisingly good. Apple used to ha...

Good Desktop Computer
Strengths:  OS, all-in-one design, CPU Power, Case design
Weaknesses:  mouse, dead pixels
Review:  I have used Macs (5th one) since mid-90s and have always appreciated their design and OS strengths. This is definitely a well-designed machine, and the new OS (Leopard) is quite good, especially compared to Vista. My only complaints with this machine is the fact it has a dead pixel right out of the box (VERY common with Apple displays)and the "cheesy" mouse, which I replaced with a far ...

Save the smug indie kid routine
Strengths:  widgets, boots really fast, rarely stalls no matter how many windows are open
Weaknesses:  2 month life span
Review:  I took the plunge and bought a 20" intel iMac 2 months ago. My experiences range from the really good, to the really bad. The really good. The iMac is fast to set up right out of the box. It boots really quickly. The monitor is brilliant! The widgets are the coolest, especially the bouncing ball. The compatability issues between Macs and PC's are over-blown. In short, it's a t...

Good All-In-One Computer
Strengths:  Compact, quiet, pretty speedy, good value for the money
Weaknesses:  Mighty mouse, 512MB stock RAM, HD not easy to upgrade
Review:  This is a great computer overall, save for a couple of things. First the stock RAM on this model is 512MB and OS X Tiger performs much better with 1 GB. A cheap upgrade, but a complaint regardless. Second, the Mighty mouse is awful. The ball and only a single side button are compromises Apple made to keep the design simple. Thankfully both the RAM and mouse shortcomings are easily rectified. The ...

Weaknesses:  NOTHING IS PERFECT. POWER BUTTON LOCATION. THATS ALL I COULD FIND

very good value and very capable family computer
Strengths:  * includes pretty much everything you need * separate graphics card * beautiful design * space saving
Weaknesses:  * limited expandability * ports are difficult to access * small display
Review:  The more I use this, the more I'm amazed as what it can do. At first glance, it's an all in one computer, no big deal. But when you realize that it comes with a webcam (isight), dual layer cd/dvd burner (superdrive), a good graphics card (128mb ATI Radeon X1600), decent size hard drive (160GB), wireless card (airport extreme - 802.11n capable), multimedia suite of applications (iLife)...
