Great Buy

Strengths: Processor,Motherboard, Dual channel Capable

Weakness: On Board Video, ATA100 HD Could have been SATA Junk Programs,Must burn your own restore discs.

I picked it up at Office Depot on a special. Processor is super, definitly need additionl video card for any games or sharpness on LCD. Came with 1G of memory that can expand to 4G and run in dual channel SATA HD would have been plus. Burn restore disc then reformat and install only what you need. Tons of junk programs on partition.

Pavilion A1230N - Nice, speedy machine for Home use

Strengths: Great CPU. Pretty quiet. Large HD and Lightscribe DVD Burner. Digital Media manager. Plenty of RAM

Weakness: No AGP expansion slot. No remote and/or surround sound card

Quite a powerhorse of a machine. Has more potential than required for mundane PC tasks. Scales up really well for crunching multitasking applications. But its not really a HTPC just because it has Windows Media Center on it. Lacks a Remote and surround sound card (of course, both of which can be purchased separately) Am happy with the machine.

a good media center printer

Strengths: XP Media Center operating system. Large hard drive. Light scribe DVDRW. Built-in media card reader is handy. Good price.

Weakness: no TV turner,no IR/remote

The price I paid is very good compared with other similarly feathered computer. It has everything I need for personal use. I'm pretty happy with it so far. The speed of the computer is much faster than my old PIII 900MHz computer and it is very quiet.

HP Pavilion A1230n Desktop

Strengths: XP Media Center included. Decently large hard drive. Light scribe DVDRW. Built-in media card reader is handy.

Weakness: Built-in video shares system memory - hate that type. No remote for XP Media Center.

Nice system, could definitely use some upgrades to be a standalone system for someone that doesn't have another system. Would really need a better vid card with TV out, and more RAM to be a main system, especially if gaming. But for $325 AR, it's a killer system.

HP A1230n Desktop

Strengths: AMD 3700+ Coolrunning, 1gb 200GB SATA DVD/RW &DVD/ROM XP Media OS, PCIx16 express video 2 IDE + 2SATA connectors on MB

Weakness: No S-video ,no TV turner,no IR/remote to go along with XP media software

A fast and cool running PC with a few upgrades ie TV tuner and Video card can become a great basis for a home entertainment system... at a very reasonable cost

super fast computer

Strengths: nice and quiet, fast

Weakness: white case

for the speed and 300$ price, I can not complain. I like AMD, you can over clock the cpu easily without too much heat. 200G storage is enough for me,but the video card is not suit for the fantastic game. I like black case, but this is white.

It's an HP

Strengths: AMD64, 1gb ram and Asus Motherboard

Weakness: No stand alone video card DVD Burner but a cd drive instead of a second dvd drive

All in all a good package for the price. Purchased discontinued from OfficeDepot for $280 after rebates. Total price of parts alone is over $500 if you get a good deal.

HP Pavilion a1230n Desktop

Strengths: boots up very fast, lots of file storage and memory. Great DVD burner with LightScribe

Weakness: some strange quirks, like often having to click on links twice and when trying to reopen a window from the taskbar, it will go to a different window. Integrated video card is not ideal.

I've been pretty happy with this computer, even with its minor problems. I've always bought HP computers. They are hard to beat. This is my first one with an AMD Athlon processor, and it seems to work very well.

Nice computer for the price

Strengths: good performance for the price

Weakness: none so far

I bought this computer at a deep discount. It performs nicely, with little problem. The configuration of this computer is up to the current standard of good computers, and the price I got is even lower than most of the crappy computers. Also nice about this computer is that there is a $50 rebate that bring its net cost even lower. How nice! I love this little computer.

Great Computer

Strengths: dual-core,2.2GHz AMD Athlon 64 RAM,DVD±RW +R double layer,and 1 year warranty.

Weakness: NONE

Got it today. Very satisfied with the processor speed, the memory is huge and lots of space for my pics and movies. Also this pc is great for games, and watching tv. The burner is the other feature I like about this pc. Fast efficient burning rom. Nicely done HP. Highly recommended.
